Jams, I did get the link to the Times online article.

Anyway, as being at it: What a bunch of fucking (sic!!!) hypocrites are to be found 'in the lap' of the church. And I do not mean the paederasts. I mean those who still think 'L'etat, c'est nous!'
Disgusting. If only I think of whom some people meanwhile call Benny-dicked-us.
Well, but more disturbing is that too many decent people do fell on their knees in front of these shammers.
Ahem ... interruption of the rant.
The peace of the night. :)

I didn't get the sitcom but the link to the article. The Catholic Church is finished...It's about time! What those people have done in Canada (Newfoundland and the Natives)is abominable. The cover-up added to the horror. There would be no legal costs if they would accept responsibilities, pay up what is being asked and CLOSE THEIR DOORS. Goodbye and don't come back. Ireland should kick them out and deport priests and nuns to Iran. I guess it's a good thing for them I'm not in charge...

Wow Claudia, your views may mine looks positively mild! ,The church's attitude has been a disgrace

Jams - When I was in the Eastern Arctic, I was part of the government process of sending young Inuits (mostly girls) to Western Arctic religious institutions. The goal was for the students to get a higher education. They were separated from loving families and friends, and a relaxed environment. When I learned, years later, that they had been physically and sexually abused in those institutions, it was difficult to control my anger. The children came back every summer and never spoke to anyone about what was happening to them. Now when I ask some why they didn't speak, they say they thought the teachers were right....They were "bad" children and deserved to be punished.

I became one of the very vocal voices asking my government to apologise in the House of Commons to the Aboriginals and Inuits for the part we had played in trusting the religious institutions for the education of their children.

It was a very moving ceremony where many of the abused children, now adults, walked one by one, in our Parliament, in front of the whole Canadian nation, for us to see the hurt and damage we had done.

The Pope, in an act of repentance, should welcome all the abused children in Rome, and walk them, in St-Peter, in front of the whole world, for us to see the cruelty they have endured.

No amount of money can repair the damage.

In Canada, not only the Catholic Church is guilty. It also happened in Protestant Institutions.

I'm very angry, Jams. It's also hard to contain my tears.

I don't know why I cannot get the video. I'm always sent to the article. The Lord knows I need a laugh...

Oh my God Claudia I can see why you are so angry and upset. For all that is being done now is only a tiny portion of redress for the crimes of the past. The Pope should get down on his knees and beg forgiveness

I've changed the link, Here's hoping it works now

Yummy? Err I'll take your word for that one James!

Claude said...

Many thanks for your efforts. I just read that the video has been blocked in my country on copyrights grounds. I'm not even allowed to laugh with all of you....

I think James is being a little strange... :-O
